This past Christmas the Hubby and I made a 6 shelved round Christmas Village Stand. We created it with the idea that we’d remove the shelves after the holiday and store them in the attic. But then I had an idea that we could use it year round. Which is why I am here today sharing how to Use Your Christmas Village Stand Year Long.

In the above image, you can see how I had our Christmas Village Stand decorated for Christmas. I had buffalo snow wrapped around the inner posts, as well as on the shelves. It was really pretty at night when all the lights where on, but they never make for good pictures thou.
When I took down all our Christmas decorations, I removed the lights, and buffalo snow from the stand. I originally painted it white so that it would tie it into any seasonal decor I might use.
We also got new farmhouse style furniture at the beginning of the year, which made the stand blend in even more so. You’ll have to excuse all the puppy toys, our Lala and Ludo love dragging them all over the house. The above image is the same wall as in the picture above this one. Looks so much different without Christmas decor and the brown furniture.

If you’re someone like me that collects little seasonal vases, frames, statues, etc. then this idea is definitely going to work for you. Basically, you’re going to decorate your shelves with your everyday decor items. Use vase, frames, little knick-knacks etc. and when each new Holiday/Season comes around add a few seasonal items.
So far we’ve had only one holiday, which was the New Year. I don’t really spend money on New Year’s decorations. If we hosted a New Year’s Eve party then I’d probably have a drawer full. We don’t so our next holiday is Valentine’s Day, and I love it! I mean who doesn’t love all the pink and red hearts? Having a reason to be all mushy and gushy? Yep, that’s me the mushy gushy romantic. But I can’t do it year round, it would ruin my strict grandma, mom role. :) Just kidding my family probably gets tired of my hugs and I love you’s.
I really like how it turned out, everything with the exception of the Valentine’s Day stuff are items that stay on the shelf. Sometimes I’ll switch out a candle or two, or add a different little bird but for the most part, they stay. This is a pretty way to use your Christmas Village Stand Year Long.

I don’t think I mention it, but we put large round felt sliders on the bottom of the stand. This helps from scratching our hardwood floors, and it also makes it easy to slide to different areas of the room. I am constantly moving things around, my hubby teases me all the time.
If you’re looking for affordable and fairly decent seasonal items for decorating visit your local Dollar Tree. I get a lot of my seasonal vases and some of my wall hangings for our coffee bar there. Oh, speaking of Coffee Bar I’ll be sharing how I’ve got it decorated for Valentine’s Day sometime later this week.
