A little over 15 years ago in a quiet little pizza shop, I was clueless as to how my life was about to change. Never in a million years did I believe I’d actually find the happiness I have experienced over the years. Looking back on this day I now see how perfect it was, as giddy as I was then I still had no clue that this was going to be the day I fell in love with my husband.
Our story started in a pizza shop.
He and I had been talking and had occasional lunches together for a while prior to this day. But this was the first time he and my then two-year-old son were meeting. We thought the pizza shop would be a good idea since we all loved pizza, plus it was also next to the park we had planned spend some of our day in.
He arrived a few minutes before us and ordered the perfect pizza. Perfect why? Well because he remembered from a previous conversation how I liked my pizza and ordered it. How sweet was that? It was definitely a brownie point for him!
After pizza, we spent the day laughing, playing and chasing my son around the park. It was like a dream come true, I was spending time with someone who enjoyed my company and played with my little one too. You know that old saying “time flies when you’re having fun”? Well, it’s true because time flew by that day! It seemed like we had just arrived at the pizza place and we were several hours later saying our good nights.
The perfect day was coming to an end, and it was hard to say good night. But we both had jobs and responsibilities to get back too. When I drove away and watched him from the rear view mirror, I knew then that he was special. I felt like I hadn’t felt in so very long, it was exciting and frightening at the same time.
The Day I fell in Love with my Husband
Later that night after getting my little one bathed and down for the night, I called him up and we talked. We both enjoyed the day and couldn’t wait to do it again. The conversation was steady and fun just like our day.
Again time got away with us and before we knew it, it was well into the wee hours of the morning. We said good night again. The day ended just as wonderful as it had started. It was because of him. For the first time in forever, I felt something.
The Day I fell in love with my Husband again
March 27, 2004, nearly 2 years after that wonderful day in the park we were married. One of the most beautiful days of my life, a day I’ll treasure and carry in my heart forever. The day I not only married the love of my life, but it was the day that I fell in love with him all over again.
