I have a craft room full of supplies that I can incorporate into my Bible journaling pages. But just like many of the folks that Bible journal I do have my favorite Bible journaling supplies which is what brings us here today. I don’t have very expensive supplies and find that the ones I do have work perfectly.
My Favorite Bible Journaling Supplies
As you can see from the image above Pens are probably some of the most important parts of my supplies. Not to mention I am a pen hoarder, and could possibly have an obsession with them. Shhh, that’s a secret.
I am currently in love with Paper Mate Flair Pens Ultra Fine Tip pens. They write and color smoothly and the colors are vibrant. I haven’t had any bleed through but haven’t really done more that a few shaded areas and lines. If I have any issues with them I’ll update this post. Currently, I only have the Candy Pop shades (from Amazon) but have been looking for deals on other colors.
Another favorite pen is the Pilot G-2 with .07 pen point. I love these pens and have used them for almost a year now. There are so many colors to pick from and are available in multi-packs (from Amazon) or single pens (from Michael’s) I currently have red, black, blue, purple, pink, green, maroon, and the metallic ones.

Twistables are another one of my favorites both the thin tipped ones and the thicker tip ones. They work great for shading and highlighting scriptures, as well as for coloring.
Micron Pens are another great bible journaling pen. I currently one have 3 black pens but want to get the colored ones too. They are archival ink so they work great when I am using watercolor paints too. I love using these for lettering and drawing. You can get these on Amazon and Michael’s.
I also have watercolor paints & pencils, erasable colored pencils, mechanical pencils, and correction pens. Then I have a set of watercolor brushes. These work great for watercolor painting, my watercolor pencils.
My Favorite Bible Journaling Supplies – Washi Tape & More
I love washi tape for all my Bible journaling and study needs. It can be used to add some color pops to pages, on the edges of pages and cut into pieces to create designs. Washi tape on the first page of every book in the Bible looks super creative and pretty.
One thing I can’t get enough of are pretty little papers for notes. I love writing little notes next to scripture and seeing the pretty papers later. They add color and prettiness to the pages of my bible.
Then I have blank tabs, planner clips, sticky notes, letter stickers, and other stickers. I use the blank tabs to write things that verses represent, as well as for labeling pages I’ve completed.

Clear matte Gesso is a Bible journaler’s friend. If you’re afraid of bleed through from inks and paints then you’ll want to prep your pages with Gesso first.
Another thing I like keep handy is paper towels, Teflon sheets, cardboard or anything that you can slide under the page you’re working on so you don’t get ink etc. on other pages.
My Favorite Bible Journaling Supplies – Journaling Bible
Of course, you can’t Bible journal without a Bible or a journaling Bible. I got a new one for this year, and I believe I will continue to do this until I have at least one for every grandchild. I’d love to pass on something to each of them when it’s my time to go.
The one I got this year is a KJV made for journaling and note taking. It has a column on each outer edge of the pages. The paper seems a little thicker than a normal bible and I love the cover.
Isn’t my uni-duck cute? It was part of my haul from the Dollar Store. I need to find Valentine’s Day Decor for the Coffee/Hot Cocoa bar.
Aren’t the edges pretty? There are pink roses on them. I am honestly thinking about keeping this one, but we’ll see. Also shown in the pictures above is my War Binder/Faith Planner. It’s a customized A5 Planner turned large traveler’s notebook. You can read more about how I did it here.
I am fairly new to the Bible journaling world and will probably find more supplies I can’t live without. There also might be some that I love today and later realize that there is something better. I’ll keep you all posted on here, Facebook, Pinterest, and Instagram.
