Congrats everyone! We’ve made it to Day 3-30 Days Transformation Lose Fat Build Muscle challenge. It’s our first active rest day! Enjoy it because come Thursday morning we are back at the weights, and back to building strong lean bodies! But. . .  Deb, we know what a rest day is, but what does an active rest day mean?

An Active Rest Day . . . means you’ll perform light exercises like cycling, swimming or a brisk walk. This will help all the muscles we workout on on Monday and Tuesday time to recover. Some of you may think you don’t need a rest day. Trust me taking an active rest day will hasten your recovery, making you feel stronger and faster when you’re back in workout-mode.

Taking an active rest day is important! Here are some exercises you can do today.

  • Brisk walk either on the treadmill or outdoors.
  • Swim
  • Cycle
  • Housework
  • Yardwork
  • Light activity
  • Seated Barbell Twists from day 1 – Target 300 Twists

Enjoy this day and let your muscles recover. I live by the no pain. . . no gain. rule but I will be taking an active rest day today. I want to be fresh and come back on Thursday morning with vengeance.
